🇺🇸 Trump Says America is at a Crossroads
Happy Thursday, Patriots!
President Donald J. Trump wasted no time taking a victory lap after longtime foe Nancy Pelosi announced she won’t seek re-election, ending her decades-long grip on House Democrats.
“The retirement of Nancy Pelosi is a GREAT thing for America,” Trump told Fox News, calling the former Speaker “evil,” “corrupt,” and “only focused on bad things for our country.”
Pelosi, 85, revealed her plans in a farewell video Thursday — but Trump made it clear her departure marks the end of an era he helped close.
“She was rapidly losing control of her party,” he said. “I’m very honored she impeached me twice — and failed miserably twice.”

In the aftermath of the election results that saw socialist Zohran Mamdani win the New York City mayoral race, President Trump has continued to hammer the new mayor-elect for his "very angry" victory speech and warned that communism has "never worked anywhere" in a thousand years. The blue wave of Democrat wins across the nation is causing serious concern among Republicans as midterm strategies are now being discussed to prevent further losses in 2026.
The Supreme Court heard arguments on the constitutionality of the President's tariffs in what Trump called a "life or death" case for America, with several conservative justices expressing skepticism about the administration's broad claims of executive power. Meanwhile the government shutdown has officially become the longest on record at 36 days, with no resolution in sight as Democrats remain emboldened by their election victories and Trump compares them to kamikaze pilots willing to take down the country.

📊 Supreme Court Weighs Trump Tariff Powers
The Supreme Court weighed the legality of President Trump's use of an emergency law to unilaterally impose sweeping tariffs on most U.S. trading partners in a blockbuster case that experts say stretches far beyond matters of economic policy. At issue before the court is whether the president can use the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to impose two sweeping sets of tariffs on most countries, including a 10% global tariff Trump announced in April and the higher reciprocal tariffs imposed on nearly 50 countries, with Trump claiming that trade deficits amounted to "the precipice of an economic and national-security crisis." Several conservative justices questioned whether the administration's claims amounted to giving the president broad taxing power without congressional oversight, with Justice Neil Gorsuch asking "is the constitutional assignment of the taxing power to Congress, the power to reach into the pockets of the American people, just different?" and Justice Amy Coney Barrett grilling the administration on whether there has "ever been another instance in which a statute has used that language to confer the power" that Trump seeks. U.S. Solicitor General D. John Sauer acknowledged to the justices that IEEPA does not explicitly give an executive the power to regulate tariffs, though he argued that the power to tariff is "the natural common sense inference" of the 1977 law.
✈️ Florida to Rename Palm Beach Airport After Trump
A bill was introduced over the weekend that would change the name of the Palm Beach International Airport in Florida to the "Donald J. Trump International Airport," with state representative Meg Weinberger confirming the news. Weinberger said in a statement that "President Trump is the most consequential president of our lifetime and a resident of Palm Beach County, which makes it only fitting to honor him, like many other presidents before him, by naming our airport Donald J. Trump International." Air Force One frequently travels to the airport due to the proximity of the President's Mar-a-Lago residence, and more than 10 commercial airports in the U.S. are already named after presidents, including John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. The Palm Beach airport had a record-breaking year between May 2023 and May 2024, handling over eight million passengers, and was ranked the "best in the U.S." for shortest overall TSA wait times by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
🔥 Trump Compares Democrats to Kamikaze Pilots
President Trump compared Democrats to Japanese kamikaze pilots who conducted suicide missions during World War II, telling Republican senators at a breakfast at the White House that "I think they're kamikaze pilots" and "they'll take down the country if they have to." Trump's remarks came as the government shutdown lasted for 36 days, marking the longest one in U.S. history, with the President saying he didn't think Democrats were taking enough of the blame for their role in the shutdown. The stalemate between Republicans and Democrats stems from healthcare provisions in a potential funding measure, with Trump and Republicans claiming Democrats want to provide illegal immigrants healthcare and citing a provision that would repeal part of Trump's tax and domestic policy bill that reduced Medicaid eligibility for non-U.S. citizens. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said his party remains firm that it will not support a measure that doesn't include extensions for the Affordable Care Act subsidies, saying "the only plan Republicans have for healthcare seems to be to eliminate it, and then to tell working people to go figure it out on their own."
💰 Trump Speaks at American Business Forum
President Trump touted economic bright spots during his speech at the American Business Forum in Miami, noting that under his presidency, miner wages have risen by an average of almost $5,000, construction worker wages have climbed by $2,200, and factory worker wages are up $1,300. Trump highlighted that egg prices are down 85 percent since March and touted Walmart's announcement that the average Thanksgiving Dinner will see a substantial drop this year, with the bundle to feed 10 running just under $40, down from an average of $7 per person under last year's pricing when President Biden was in office. Trump also noted that 1.9 million more natural-born Americans are employed since he took office, all new jobs created under him have been through the private sector, and that 100,000 bureaucrats have left the federal payroll while government spending is down 2.5 percent this quarter compared to one year ago.

🔔 Trump Says America is at a Crossroads 🔔
President Trump warned that New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani is off to a "bad start" after Mamdani challenged the President to "turn the volume up" in his victory speech, with Trump calling the address "a very angry speech" directed at him and labeling one of Mamdani's statements as "dangerous."
During an interview, Trump responded to Mamdani's warning that if the President wanted to get to him or his supporters, he would "have to get through all" of them, saying "it's a very dangerous statement for him to make, actually" and adding that "he has to be a little bit respectful of Washington, because if he's not, he doesn't have a chance of succeeding." Trump said that he would like for Mamdani to "do well" because he loves New York but cautioned that "for a thousand years, communism has not worked" and "it's literally never worked," expressing doubt that "it's going to work this time."
Trump also declared that America is at a crossroads "between communism and common sense" during his remarks at the America Business Forum in Miami, saying that "if you want to see what congressional Democrats wish to do to America, just look at the result of yesterday's election in New York, where their party installed a communist as the mayor of the largest city in the nation."
The President vowed that "as long as I'm in the White House, the United States is not going communist in any way, shape, or form" and stated that Miami will be a haven to those fleeing communism in New York City. Mamdani, who defeated former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa with 50.4 percent of the vote, addressed Trump in his victory speech by saying "Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you: Turn the volume up," and issued a direct challenge stating "if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him."
Mayor-elect Mamdani also lied in a post-election interview with George Stephanopoulos, claiming that Trump is "making it harder for Americans to afford those groceries by cutting SNAP benefits," when in fact SNAP benefits were not distributed due to Democrats in Congress refusing to reopen the government with a clean continuing resolution.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture explains on its website that "Senate Democrats have voted 14 times against reopening the government," compromising not only SNAP but farm programs, food inspection, animal and plant disease protection, rural development, and protecting federal lands. Mamdani, who has advocated for city-run grocery stores and expressed his opposition to sending police officers to respond to domestic dispute calls, is the son of Mira Nair, an Indian-American filmmaker, and Mahmood Mamdani, a scholar at Columbia University who has made pro-Palestinian statements on X.
Trump stated that pollsters believe the reasons for Republican losses in New Jersey and Virginia were that he was not leading the ticket as well as the government shutdown, writing on Truth Social that "'TRUMP WASN'T ON THE BALLOT, AND SHUTDOWN, WERE THE TWO REASONS THAT REPUBLICANS LOST ELECTIONS TONIGHT,' according to Pollsters."
Trump told Republican senators at a breakfast that he thought New Jersey would do better but did not express surprise at the Virginia and New York results, calling out "radicalized" Democrats for creating the United States' longest-ever government shutdown by refusing to extend the deadline as had been done in past shutdowns.
Mamdani's victory and combative stance toward the President sets up an epic confrontation between the federal government and America's largest city, with Trump making clear that New York will receive minimal federal funding under communist leadership.

🍟 Quick Bite News 🍟
💬 Vice President JD Vance delivered a post-election reality check, contending that Republicans need to direct their focus to the "home front" and work to make life more affordable for Americans following the GOP losses in several key elections. Vance said in a social media post that "we need to focus on the home front" because "the president has done a lot that has already paid off in lower interest rates and lower inflation, but we inherited a disaster from Joe Biden and Rome wasn't built in a day." He added that "we're going to keep on working to make a decent life affordable in this country, and that's the metric by which we'll ultimately be judged in 2026 and beyond," while acknowledging that "it's idiotic to overreact to a couple of elections in blue states."
🏛 Senate Democrats are riding high after a wave of victories on Election Day and view Democratic candidates' performances as an indicator that their shutdown strategy is working, feeling emboldened by the election results as the government shutdown officially entered record-breaking territory in its 36th day. Sen. Bernie Sanders warned that "if they cave now and go forward with a meaningless vote, I think it will be a horrible policy decision, and I think politically, to the Democrats," adding "when we fight, we win" but "when you cave, you lose." Senate Majority Leader John Thune offered Senate Democrats a vote on the expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies in exchange for supporting a continuing resolution, but Democrats say they want more, with Schumer demanding a meeting with the President to "sit down and negotiate with Democrats to bring this Republican shutdown to an end."
✈️ President Trump's global peace efforts are now picking up speed in Sudan, where a 30-month war has left tens of thousands dead and some 14 million displaced from their homes, with the State Department saying "ending wars is a priority for President Trump." The White House's senior advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, held talks with Egypt's Foreign Minister and the Arab League, with Boulos saying "both parties have agreed in principle, and we have not recorded any initial objection from either side." White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that "the United States is actively engaged in efforts to bring about a peaceful resolution to the terrible conflict in Sudan," working with Quad members Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE as well as others to lead a negotiated peace process.
💰 President Trump celebrated the strides made in the affordability crisis since he took office in January 2025, marking one year from his historic election victory over Kamala Harris by highlighting that costs have come down significantly across multiple fronts. In a Truth Social post, Trump celebrated the "BOOMING" economy and noted that "affordability is our goal," with gas prices dipping to their lowest level for any October since 2020, mortgage rates falling since January, and rental prices growing at their slowest pace in over four and half years. The price of fresh eggs has fallen by 61.2 percent since February, while other items including butter, ice cream, fresh fruit, and cereal are all falling as well, with Walmart announcing its Thanksgiving meal basket will cost less than $4 per person this year compared to around $7 per person last year.
⚖️ The California Republican Party has announced a federal lawsuit against the state's recently-passed Prop 50, which will potentially add 5 Democrat seats to the U.S. House, with State Assemblyman David Tangipa announcing himself as the lead plaintiff. The lawsuit, which includes 18 California voters as co-plaintiffs, alleges that newly approved Proposition 50 "unconstitutionally gerrymanders districts in violation of the 14th and 15th Amendments," with attorney Mike Columbo saying "the map is designed to favor one race of California voters over others" in violation of equal protection guarantees. Republicans hold 219 seats in the U.S. House while Democrats hold 213, meaning those five seats in the 2026 midterm could make a huge difference in the balance of power, with Gov. Gavin Newsom having strongly backed Prop 50 as a bulwark against President Trump.
God bless,
