🇺🇸 Trump Demands End to Gov. Shutdown

In partnership with

Happy Tuesday, Patriots,

A new front has opened in the escalating standoff between the White House and blue-state governors.

After a federal judge blocked President Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to Portland, the president said Monday he’s prepared to invoke the Insurrection Act, a centuries-old law allowing the use of active-duty military on U.S. soil.

“If I had to enact it, I’d do it,” Trump said from the Oval Office. “We have to make sure our cities are safe.”

The move could trigger one of the most significant constitutional battles of Trump’s presidency, as Illinois, Oregon, and California continue suing to stop the deployments.

✅TRACKING TRUMP✅

Curated by Mike Luso

Yesterday, President Trump made his demands absolutely clear: reopen the federal government to prevent further and unnecessary harm to the country. As the Democrat-led "Schumer Shutdown" goes into yet another day, the President is making clear he is losing patience with the dangerous political games, warning of the disastrous toll this stalemate is inflicting on countless American families.

Meanwhile, the White House continues to confront a wall of resistance to its common-sense efforts to restore law and order. Opposition to the deployment of military assets, intended to address the escalating violence in multiple Democrat-controlled cities, is now relentless. From a federal judge blocking the use of troops to bring relief to Portland, to the Chicago mayor resisting federal assistance to tackle his city’s crime wave, the left’s dedication to obstruction over public safety is on full display.

Check out all the latest developments and more below!

🚚 Trump Imposes 25% Truck Tariff
President Trump announced his administration will impose a 25% tariff on foreign-made medium- and heavy-duty trucks beginning November 1st. The President made the announcement via a Truth Social post, specifying the rate will apply to all such trucks entering the United States from other countries. The U.S. trucking industry, which moves roughly 73% of all domestic freight, is described as a cornerstone of the national economy. The logistics sector generally operates on slim profit margins, making it highly sensitive to unexpected increases in operating costs caused by new import taxes. This latest revelation comes as the Supreme Court weighs the legality of Trump’s sweeping trade policy, which the White House defends as a legitimate use of presidential powers.

🛡️ White House Slams Blocking of Troop Deployment
The White House blasted a federal judge who temporarily blocked the Trump administration twice from dispatching National Guard troops to Oregon in October. U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut issued a ruling blocking the administration from sending California National Guard troops to Oregon or any other state for his city crime deployment efforts. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt discredited Immergut's ruling and said the administration was appealing the decision, citing U.S. code 12 406 for Presidential authority as Commander in Chief. White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller called the decision one of the most "egregious and thunderous violations of constitutional order" he has ever seen. The Trump administration argues the deployment is necessary to defend ICE officers and the facility, which is currently "under siege" by anarchists amid ongoing protests.

🛶 Trump to Cut Refugee Admissions by 94 Percent
President Trump is reportedly looking to reduce the annual refugee resettlement program’s cap to only 7,500 admissions compared to the former administration’s figure. This reported 94 percent reduction is set against the former President’s last year in office, when more than 100,000 refugees were imported in Fiscal Year 2024 alone. The previous administration had utilized a parole pipeline that brought in hundreds of thousands of migrants from Afghanistan, Latin America, the Caribbean, and other global regions. Most of the slots under the new cap would be reserved for South Africans who are the descendants of Dutch and French settlers, according to a report. The Trump administration has already welcomed such South Africans who face racial discrimination and violence in their home country, a move which garnered rebuke from the establishment media.

🛑 Trump Pulls Plug on Venezuela Talks
President Trump has halted diplomatic discussions with Venezuela in his bid to end drug trafficking and cartels operating in the U.S., according to a new report. U.S. officials claimed the President has closed the door on negotiations, potentially setting in motion increased military action against drug traffickers or President Nicolás Maduro's government. Richard Grenell, the special presidential envoy who was leading talks, was reportedly informed on October 2nd that all diplomatic contact with Maduro must immediately cease. The President reportedly felt impatience with what the administration sees as Venezuelan intransigence and frustration with Maduro’s refusal to step down voluntarily. The Trump administration has previously accused Maduro of overseeing a "narco-state," indicting him on drug trafficking charges and offering a $50 million reward for his arrest.

🔔 Trump Demands End to Government Shutdown🔔

President Trump criticized Democratic lawmakers for forcing a government shutdown amidst a period of economic success and a record stock market. Trump demanded Democrats immediately allow the government to re-open, urging them to end the lapse in funding "tonight." The President asserted the shutdown should never have happened, noting it has tragically affected many essential programs and services relied upon by American society. Trump specified that he is happy to work with Democrats on their failed healthcare policies, but only after they first allow the government to re-open.

The White House amplified this warning, stating a great deal of pain will be inflicted on the American public if Democrats continue to block funding measures. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt specifically cited unpaid troops, along with women and young children dependent on critical food assistance, facing direct consequences.

Federal workers faced missing their next full paycheck if a deal was not reached, while the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program would eventually run out of funding. The White House argued that Democrats had a clear chance to change course and urged them to "do the right thing" by voting to reopen the government.

This legislative impasse continues as Senate Democrats, led by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, repeatedly block Republican efforts to pass a stopgap funding bill. Schumer and most of his caucus remain adamant they will not provide the necessary votes unless Congress agrees to permanently extend expiring Affordable Care Act subsidies.

The GOP bill designed to reopen the government until November 21 requires Senate Majority Leader John Thune to secure at least eight Democratic votes for passage. Only Senators John Fetterman, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Angus King have broken ranks with their caucus, while Rand Paul remains the lone Republican holdout.

Democrats contend that failure to act on these ObamaCare tax credits would cause Americans who rely on them to see their healthcare premiums skyrocket. Schumer insisted that any deal requires assurance that Trump will personally sign off on it, citing expected resistance from House Republicans regarding the Affordable Care Act. Trump repeatedly blamed Democrats for the ongoing closure, labeling their policy demands as "unreasonable."

The current situation places the political spotlight squarely on Congress, contrasting sharply with the 35-day shutdown during Trump's first term, which centered on his border wall funding demands. This shift allowed Trump to maintain a relatively low profile, enabling Democrats to bear the political consequences for voting against the continuing resolution. Trump encouraged Republicans to utilize the "Democrat forced closure" as an opportunity to clear out dead wood, waste, and fraud in the federal government.

🗽 Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order establishing "ICE-free zones" across the city to limit the ability of federal immigration agents from using municipal property for enforcement operations. The order explicitly prohibits ICE from using city-owned properties, such as parks and parking lots, as staging areas for civil immigration operations and invites private businesses to join this protective network. Mayor Johnson framed the measure as safeguarding the constitutional rights of Chicagoans and a necessary step to curb the "reckless behavior" of federal authorities.

⚖️ Republican senators made the shocking disclosure that the FBI, under the direction of Special Counsel Jack Smith, secretly tracked the phone records of more than a half-dozen GOP lawmakers in a politically motivated investigation. This intrusive "preliminary toll analysis" provided the dates and times of calls for the elected officials over several days around January 6, 2021, constituting what Senator Chuck Grassley explicitly called a "violation of personal property and people's rights." The entire controversial probe into President Trump was ultimately abandoned following his election, yet this revelation of government surveillance targeting political opponents demands immediate accountability.

🗳️ A critical special election is underway in California on a measure that could dramatically reshape the state's congressional districts, potentially increasing the Democratic margin by up to five seats. The outcome of this unusual 2025 vote is seen as a key pre-midterm battle that could determine whether Republicans retain their narrow majority in the U.S. House during the 2026 election. With the President's party typically losing ground in midterms, the redistricting fight is part of the Democrat’s broader strategy to limit Trump's power in the second half of his term.

⚔️ Texas Governor Greg Abbott deployed over 5,000 Texas National Guard troops and 2,000 state police across the state in response to anticipated "No Kings" protests against recent federal immigration raids. Governor Abbott stated that the massive surge of personnel was necessary to maintain law and order and prevent "lawlessness" in Texas following President Trump’s call for reinforcements. This deployment was further complicated when Trump also ordered Texas National Guard members to other states, which Illinois Governor JB Pritzker condemned as an uncoordinated military “Invasion.”

🗣️ President Trump confirmed that Sean "Diddy" Combs asked him for a pardon, referencing the hip-hop mogul's recent conviction on two prostitution-related charges that resulted in a four-year, two-month prison sentence. Trump revealed the request during an Oval Office discussion with reporters, where he referred to the musician by his old nickname, "Puff Daddy." The President also noted he was once "very friendly" with Combs but that the request would be "more difficult" due to the mogul’s "very hostile" political statements against him during the campaign and the egregious nature of the crime.

God bless,
