From the White House Rose Garden, President Donald Trump yesterday posthumously awarded Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, calling him “a fearless warrior for liberty” and “a titan of the American conservative movement.”
The ceremony — held on what would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday — drew cabinet members, lawmakers, and Turning Point USA leaders, as Erika Kirk accepted the honor on her late husband’s behalf.

President Trump stood in the Rose Garden and honored Charlie Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, presenting the nation's highest civilian award to his widow Erika on what would have been Charlie's 32nd birthday. The massive ceremony drew senators, cabinet members, and media figures. Also in attendance was Argentina's President Javier Milei, who Trump hosted at the White House to finalize a $20 billion currency swap between the two nations.
While the Middle East peace deal has brought all living hostages home, Trump delivered a stark warning to Hamas: disarm voluntarily or face forced disarmament by American might. Though the conflict may be winding down, the President made it clear that protecting the hard-won peace remains a top priority for the administration.

💰 Trump Delivers $20 Billion Lifeline to Argentina
The Trump administration finalized a $20 billion currency swap with Argentina, exchanging U.S. dollars for the more volatile Argentine peso as President Javier Milei visited the White House. The swap came ahead of key midterm elections in Argentina and addressed concerns about currency liquidity in the South American nation. Diego Celedon, head of equity strategy for JPMorgan Chase in the region, called the move "a pivotal moment for Argentina's financial stability," noting that "the US support acts as a circuit breaker, halting the negative feedback loop that had threatened to deepen Argentina's economic strain." Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the U.S. was in a position to help during "a moment of acute illiquidity," and the peso appreciated significantly following the announcement. During their meeting, Milei presented Trump with a framed letter recommending the President for the Nobel Peace Prize.
✈ Trump Issues Dire Warning to Hamas on Disarmament
President Trump warned Hamas that if the terrorist organization doesn't disarm voluntarily, "we will disarm them," speaking from the White House while meeting with Argentina's President Javier Milei. The warning came one day after all 20 living hostages were released into Israel following nearly 740 days in captivity, though most of the 28 deceased hostages have not been returned. Trump told reporters that Hamas "misrepresented" how many bodies it would be able to return and emphasized "Above all else, get the hostages back." The disarmament phase was originally slated to begin in the second stage of the agreement after all hostages were returned, but Trump suggested on Truth Social that "Phase two begins right now," indicating his impatience with Hamas's compliance. The President declined to specify what action he would take to forcibly disarm Hamas, though he has previously said he would back Israel in carrying out its full military ambitions in Gaza if the terrorist network refuses to relinquish its arms.
⚽ Trump Threatens to Pull World Cup Games from Boston
President Trump said he may contact FIFA President Gianni Infantino to relocate 2026 World Cup matches out of Boston if Mayor Michelle Wu doesn't address crime and safety issues in the city. Speaking during his meeting with Argentina's President Milei, Trump referenced a recent violent street takeover where over 100 people attacked police with fireworks, cones, and poles, ultimately destroying one police cruiser by setting it ablaze. Trump called Wu "intelligent, but radical left" and said "if somebody's doing a bad job, and if I feel there's unsafe conditions, I would call Gianni, the head of FIFA, who's phenomenal, and I would say, 'Let's move it to another location.'" Boston is currently scheduled to host seven World Cup matches, including five group-stage games and the first quarterfinal. Trump added that he would consider pulling the 2028 Summer Olympics out of Los Angeles for similar reasons if he believed the city wasn't properly prepared, stating "If I thought LA was not going to be prepared properly, I'd move it to another location."
⚖ Judge Sides with Comey in Discovery Fight
A federal judge in Alexandria rejected the Justice Department's request to limit James Comey's access to "protected" discovery materials in his criminal case, ruling that such restrictions would "unnecessarily hinder and delay" his ability to prepare his defense. Judge Michael Nachmanoff stated that "protective orders addressing the confidentiality and privacy interests of others should not override a defendant's right to a fair trial," and criticized the government's proposed order for not sufficiently defining what constitutes "Protected Material." Comey's lawyers announced they plan to file a motion to dismiss the case, challenging the appointment of Lindsey Halligan as acting U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, calling it an "unlawful appointment." Halligan, a former insurance attorney and White House aide with no prosecutorial experience, was installed just three days before securing Comey's indictment. Comey faces one count of allegedly making a false statement to Congress during a Senate hearing in 2020 and one count of obstruction connected to the same event.

President Trump said he "raced back halfway around the globe" to present the medal after brokering a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, and admitted he “didn’t have the courage” to ask his widow, Erika, to move the date when he realized it would fall on Kirk’s birthday.
🔔 Trump Awards Charlie Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom 🔔
President Trump posthumously awarded Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom in a moving Rose Garden ceremony, honoring the conservative activist who was assassinated at age 31. The President presented the medal to Kirk's widow, Erika, on what would have been Charlie's 32nd birthday, calling him "a fearless warrior for liberty" and "a beloved leader who galvanized the next generation like nobody I've ever seen before."
Trump told the assembled crowd that Kirk was "assassinated in the prime of his life for boldly speaking the truth, for living his faith, and relentlessly fighting for a better and stronger America." The ceremony marked the first major event in the newly renovated Rose Garden, with Trump noting that despite forecasts of terrible weather, clear skies prevailed for the occasion.
Among those in attendance were Argentina's President Javier Milei, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Speaker Mike Johnson, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, and prominent conservative media figures including Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Jesse Watters, and Jack Posobiec. Trump praised Kirk's legacy in building Turning Point USA into the nation's largest conservative youth organization, noting that membership has surged following his death.
The President condemned the rising tide of political violence from the left, referencing how radicals "have rammed vehicles into federal law enforcement, fired sniper rifles at ICE agents," and ultimately took Kirk's life. Kirk was shot during his "American Comeback Tour" at Utah Valley University on September 10th by Tyler Robinson, 22, who inscribed Antifa-linked phrases including "Hey fascist! Catch!" and "O bella ciao" on bullet casings found at the scene.

Erika Kirk delivered heartfelt remarks during the ceremony, describing her husband as a man who "filled every single day with purpose" and "fought for truth when it was unpopular." She told Trump he had given Charlie "the best birthday gift he could ever have," noting the difficulty of finding meaningful presents for a man who wasn't materialistic but loved simple things like late-night walks and buying more books than he could ever read.
The young widow, who has been tapped to lead Turning Point USA following her husband's death, said Charlie "probably would have run for president" if America needed him to serve. Trump praised Erika's strength and courage, pledging that the nation would always support her and her children, promising "we'll never forget what your family has sacrificed for our country."
The President signed a proclamation after the ceremony declaring October 14th as "National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk." Trump's remarks came just one day after returning from a Middle East trip to oversee the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas. Conservative leaders from across the nation paid tribute to Kirk on social media, with Senator Ted Cruz writing that "Charlie left an incredible legacy of faith, freedom, and debate," while Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins urged Americans to honor Kirk's life by living up to his timeless advice: "go to Church, get married, have kids, stand up for your beliefs, and never surrender."
The citation for the award stated that Kirk "was one of the most influential American political figures of his generation" who "modeled courage, logic, humor, and grace to the next generation" despite receiving repeated threats, ultimately dying as "a martyr for truth and freedom."

🏥 Oregon Democrats allocated $1.5 billion over two years to provide free healthcare to illegal immigrants statewide, more than double the $717 million earmarked for the Oregon State Police. The funds come from the state's Healthier Oregon Program, which launched in 2021 and has since provided Medicaid-like benefits to more than 105,000 individuals ineligible due to immigration status. The program covers primary care, mental health services, and prescription drugs for those earning up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level, with approximately $1.2 billion coming from state general funds.
🔥 Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called on Americans to "forcefully rise up" against the Department of Justice's indictment of New York Attorney General Letitia James on bank fraud charges, claiming Trump has made the DOJ "into his personal attack dog." Schumer declared "That is what dictatorships do," arguing that James "had a legitimate case" against Trump that "she actually won" and is now facing retaliation. Sources reported that the house involved in James' alleged mortgage fraud case was also serving as the home for her niece, who is being sought on charges in North Carolina.
🎯 The DHS announced that Mexican cartels are working with domestic extremist groups to place bounties on ICE agents and Border Patrol personnel, with gang members in Chicago deployed as armed "spotters" on rooftops to monitor federal movements. The cartel bounty program offers $2,000 for intelligence gathering, $5,000 to $10,000 for kidnapping or non-lethal assaults, and up to $50,000 for killing high-ranking officials. DHS stated that Antifa groups in Portland and Chicago "have provided logistical support such as pre-staged protest supplies, doxxing of agent identities, and on-the-ground interference to shield cartel-linked individuals from deportation."
💊 U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than $1.3 million worth of methamphetamine and black tar heroin at the Los Indios International Bridge near Brownsville, Texas. The officers discovered 67 pounds of meth and 42.5 pounds of heroin hidden inside a car driven by a 37-year-old Mexican man. The bust occurred the same day President Trump announced the U.S. military carried out it’s fifth lethal strike on a suspected drug vessel off Venezuela's coast, killing six suspected smugglers in what the administration characterized as an ongoing "non-international armed conflict" with narcoterrorist networks.
